Hello! Welcome to Broken Puppet Theatre Company. (‘Broken’ for short!)

We are a small team of qualified practitioners from the diverse worlds of theatre, film production, drama in education, youth & community support and childcare.

We work locally to produce original theatre workshops and performances with – and for – schools, children’s hospices, community groups, arts organisations and the general public.

Everything Broken has a story…

…Even us!

We use a wide range of creative arts, puppetry and storytelling techniques to engage children, young people and adults alike in challenging negative perceptions of disability and redefining what it means to be ‘different’.
Our work aims to create greater levels of cultural acceptance for people with both visible and invisible differences, helping to reduce social stigma surrounding chronic illness and disability, and promoting emotional well being through creative expression.

Drawing on both personal and professional experiences to inform our practice, many of our projects are inspired by or created with communities who are often misunderstood or under represented by the ‘mainstream’.

All of our creative work is original – from the scripts we write, to the puppet characters we make especially for each group or story. If you’ve got a story you’d like us to help tell, we’d love to hear from you.

Don’t forget to join our puppet revolution on facebook and twitter, and be sure to come and introduce yourselves if you see us – or the puppets – out and about!
